Four things that can be true

Select any jurisdiction to see which one applies, the wording it was verified from, and the date it was checked.

UUniform MPJE. Federal law plus the state-law principles common across jurisdictions. Your own state's rules are not on this exam, but you are still held to them.
MState-specific MPJE. The MPJE edition written for that jurisdiction. Its own pharmacy law is on the exam.
OBoard's own exam. NABP does not administer it, and MPJE preparation will not cover it.
–No law exam. None required for initial licensure.

Six that need a second look

These are the jurisdictions where the sources contradict each other, the law is mid-change, or the exam is not the whole requirement. They are coloured like the rest and carry a gold dot.

Method. The 13 Uniform MPJE jurisdictions and their start dates come from NABP's participating-states table. The four own-exam and seven no-exam jurisdictions come from NABP's own exclusion lists. The state-specific MPJE jurisdictions were each checked against that board's own website, rule or application packet rather than derived by subtraction.

NABP's summary page reports 45 boards requiring an NABP-administered law exam. That figure does not reconcile with the lists on the same page, which leave 43. Treat the headline number with care and go by the jurisdiction, not the total.

New Hampshire is the one open disagreement on this page. NABP moved it to the no-exam list in September 2026. New Hampshire does not support that: the rule imposing the NH MPJE expired on 29 January 2026 without being readopted, but the board's draft replacement puts the requirement back in so many words, and OPLC still publishes NH MPJE study materials for candidates. There is a gap in the rule text, not a decision to drop the exam. This page counts New Hampshire as an MPJE jurisdiction for that reason. If you are licensing in New Hampshire, assume the exam and confirm with OPLC.
