The Uniform MPJE is not a federal law exam and it is not a state law exam. It is both — and the line between them is where candidates lose points. Most prep material picks a side: it either drills federal statutes and leaves you guessing when a state rule is stricter, or it teaches one state's rules the UMPJE does not test.

This guide does neither. It teaches federal pharmacy law in full, then the general principles of state law the exam actually assesses, then gives you a decision procedure for telling which one governs when the two disagree. 468 pages, built to the official four-domain blueprint at its real 30/30/20/20 weighting.

  • 28 chapters covering all four exam domains at their tested weight
  • 500 high-yield facts, 750 practice questions with full rationales, and 5 full-length mock exams
  • By Adetayo Ogunsanya, PharmD
By Adetayo “Tayo” Ogunsanya, PharmD — clinical pharmacist licensed in six states with over a decade of experience in managed care, utilization management, and prior authorization review.

Is This Book For You?

✓ This book is for you if…

You're sitting the Uniform MPJE in an adopting state and want one complete resource — federal law, the shared state-law principles the exam tests, and enough practice to know where you stand by domain.

This isn't the right fit if…

Your board still administers the state-specific MPJE rather than the UMPJE — see the NJ, NY, or TX prep packages, which are built for that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as your state MPJE guides?

No. Those are built for the state-specific MPJE. This one is built for NABP's Uniform MPJE — federal law plus the general principles of state law shared across jurisdictions. If your board still administers the state-specific MPJE, the NJ, NY, or TX packages are the right fit.

Does it teach my state's specific rules?

No, and deliberately. The UMPJE does not test them. It tests the shared framework — how licensure, supervision, collaborative practice, and discipline work as concepts — alongside federal law. Chapter 27 gives you a decision procedure for working out which layer governs when federal and state law disagree.

How is this different from the free UMPJE study guide?

The free guide is an orientation to the exam and its four domains. This is the complete treatment: 28 chapters, 500 facts, 750 questions with full rationales, and five full-length mock exams. Start with the free one if you're deciding whether the UMPJE applies to you.

Do the practice questions match the real format?

Yes. Every question uses the three-option format shown in NABP's published UMPJE sample items, and the five mock exams are weighted 30/30/20/20 to match the official blueprint. Every option gets a rationale, not just the correct one.

Does it include the question bank subscription?

No — they're separate products. The book's 750 questions are yours to keep; the $29.99/month subscription adds online drilling with instant feedback and automatic scoring by domain.

How current is the law?

Law is stated as of August 2026. Provisions that are time-limited — the DSCSA small-dispenser exemption and the DEA telemedicine flexibilities, for instance — are flagged in the text so you know to verify them before relying on them in practice.

What format is it?

Digital PDF, instant download after purchase. 468 pages, readable on any device.
